Get Shops Success Stories

  CHALLENGE:
Mike Sanders has been into Extreme Sports for most of his life. A former professional wind surfer and semi-pro mountain biker, Mike saw a need for a local version of the X-Games to allow more opportunities for athletes to compete. In 1997 he began to develop "X Sports", a business that promotes and coordinates Extreme sports competitions. By 2001, Mike had a good range of sponsors, and a large following of amateur and professional athletes from all around the country. There was so much interest that he was having trouble getting information out to people who needed it. In addition, more people were asking for his URL. The only trouble was he didn’t have one. Mike thought it was time to follow the advice he often gave his clients in his day job as an Internet marketer: a Web site is vital for credibility in today’s market.

SOLUTION:
Mike had facilitated the design and construction of Web sites for his clients, but he’d never actually sat down to build one himself. He remembered reading an article about Get Shops, and after checking out the competition he signed up and built his store. Trained not to quit before the finish line, Mike worked straight through until the small hours of the morning and X Sports' E-Business was ready for launch.

SUCCESS:
Mike has gained the credibility he was looking for. He not only has a ready answer when people ask for the "X Sports" Web site, but he’s also benefited from the links that now lead from his sponsors’ sites to his. In a business where promotion is everything, Mike has saved countless hours and dollars that used to go into responding to calls and putting together information packets. With his site working for him over-time, Mike feels "X Sports" is poised for Extreme success.
